Check In

Disney’s Old Key West Resort check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out time is 11am. This means that your room isn't guaranteed to be ready for you before 4 p.m. and the resort needs you completely out of your room by 11 a.m. on the day you check out.

This is reminiscent of the quaint villas of the turn of the century Key West. The physical layout of the resort is themed to the Keys as a grouping of islands (or "keys") that are connected by bridges to the festive village of clapboard buildings topped with tin roofs.

If you arrive early, go ahead and check in at the Front Desk. If your room is not ready, the resort luggage assistance will store your bags for you and deliver them to your room when you return. The Front Desk will give you a resort charge card, even if your room is not ready. The Guest Services desk will provide your room key when you return and your room is ready.

Late Check-out of 1:00 pm can be requested without additional cost. If you need Late Check-out, inquire at Check-In when you should request this. Most resorts ask you to call the morning of check-out because the number of eligible rooms are limited.

Express Check-out is available upon request (easiest to do when you check in) to all guests paying with a credit card. A detailed hotel bill is delivered to your door by 7am.  If the bill is correct you simply leave.  Your room key serves as a Disney Souvenir. Your room key will be automatically deactivated at 11 am.

If you plan to enjoy the parks the day of check out you can call Bell Services to pick up your luggage. If you are taking a bus or taxi to the airport, Bell Services will keep your luggage until your transportation arrives.

The following are available by calling Housekeeping, but supplies may be limited on some items:

Bed Boards and bed rails, Pak ‘n Play Crib, extra pillows, blankets and towels

Studios are similar to a Deluxe Resort room, with the addition of a small kitchenette. The kitchenette has a toaster, microwave, under-counter refrigerator with small freezer, coffeemaker, and bar sink. Disposable hot and cold drinking cups, paper plates and bowls, plastic utensils, a sponge, paper towels, a can opener and a corkscrew are furnished. Coffee, creamer, sugar and sweetener are supplied in small amounts. The room is 390 square feet and has two queen size beds, a nightstand, a small table with two chairs, and a ceiling fan. There is an armoire with a TV and dresser drawers underneath, and a nice-sized closet. Inside the closet is a vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, portable crib with linens, and a key operated safe. The bathroom, equipped with a hairdryer, is extremely large with drawers and under-sink storage. All villas have a patio or balcony with two chairs and small table. Studio units sleep four, plus one child under the age of 3 in a crib.

One Bedroom villas are 942 square feet and have a large "great room" with queen size sleep sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman, full size dining table with four chairs, 27" TV, ceiling fan and a full kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, including small appliances, wine glasses, mixing bowls, pots and pans, etc. It has a full size refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, stove and oven, microwave, and double sink with disposal. These villas also have a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer, an iron and ironing board, and a broom, dustpan, mop and vacuum cleaner are available for those who miss their domestic duties. As with the studio villas, paper towels, dish soap, coffee, creamer and sugar are supplied. Also included in the one-bedroom villas and larger is a small supply of dishwasher and laundry soap. Items available upon request are: bed rails, high chairs, napkins, placemats, voltage converters, hangers, and mixers.

The master bedroom is quite luxurious, with a king bed, chair and ottoman, two nightstands, armoire with TV, with dresser drawers underneath, hope chest with drawers and ceiling fan. The master bedroom connects to a divided bathroom. The area of the bathroom has a full closet with key-operated safe, extra bedding and a portable crib with linens. This area also has a pedestal sink, wooden shelves, and large two-person Jacuzzi tub. The second area of the bathroom contains the toilet, very large shower, and second sink with large vanity. Both the master bedroom and the great room have glass-panel doors to the patio or balcony, which has a table with four chairs and ceiling fan with light. One-bedroom villas sleep four, plus one child under 3 in a crib.

Note: In the older units, there is only one entrance to the bathroom and that is through the master bedroom. In the newer units (buildings numbered 30 and higher) the bathroom can also be accessed through the laundry room - a big bonus if someone is sleeping in the great room and those in the master bedroom would like some privacy.

Two-Bedroom units are a one-bedroom plus a studio combined, and are approximately 1395 square feet. There are two different layouts for the two-bedrooms. The "dedicated” two-bedroom has a second sink and vanity area in place of the kitchenette, and a second large closet in the space that would be the outside entrance for the studio and does not have an exterior door. The "lock-off" layout is simply a one-bedroom villa and a studio with a door that can be "locked off" between the two. These villas are especially suited for couples traveling together who want some privacy. Two-bedroom villas sleep eight, plus one child under 3 in a crib.

Three-Bedroom Grand Villas are 2375 square feet, beautiful, expensive and hard to get! All villas are two stories, with a full kitchen, dining room, great room, laundry room, master bedroom and bath, plus another bathroom on the first floor. The second floor consists of two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and TV. One bedroom has two queen-size beds and is very similar to the second bedroom of the two-bedroom unit, and the other is slightly smaller with two double beds. The great room has an open, two-story ceiling (as does the foyer), 32" TV, DVD player and stereo in an armoire, a dining area with four chairs, and queen size sofa sleeper, loveseat, and chair and ottoman. The dining room has a large table that seats eight, connecting to a home-size kitchen.

The master bedroom and bath are similar to the one and two-bedroom units, but the bedroom has a second easy chair, and the bathroom is laid out a bit differently. There is a full size bathroom off of the living room that is for any guests sleeping on the sofa. The living room and all bedrooms have ceiling fans. Of course, Grand Villas also have a balcony with dining table, four chairs, and ceiling fan with light.

Resort Pools and Recreation

The main pool area has a slide, a kids' pool, hot tub and sauna, plus a sandy playground complete with a giant pail and shovel for climbing. The main pool is the only one with lifeguards on duty.
