Resort Pools and
Recreation
There
are two pools at the Grand Floridian. The original, larger of the two
pools is called the Courtyard Pool and it is open 24/7, weather
permitting. There are NO LIFEGUARDS at this pool. It
is a large pool of about 300,000 gallons located directly behind the
main building.
The
other "'themed pool" is the Beach Pool (maximum depth 4 feet)
which includes a rock waterfall and waterslide. It is located on the south
end of the main building. The Beach Pool also has zero-depth entry
access, which means there is no step down into the pool -- you can just
wade right in or wheel a wheelchair right into the water. There are
lifeguards are on duty at this pool. The Beach Pool is open 7
a.m. to midnight for the summer (lifeguard and slide from 10am-8pm).
After Labor Day, the hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a path to
the tennis courts, the Spa & Health Club, the Wedding
Pavilion and the Polynesian Resort next to the pool deck
entrance. In addition, there is pool bar nearby that is open 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m.
The
Spa & Health Club at the GF offers spectacular service at a
top-of-the-line facility. Among the treatments offered are massage
therapies, skin care, water therapies, soothing soaks, body treatments,
hand and foot treatments, and lifestyle services. A variety of spa
packages are available, including spa services for families. Membership at
the health club is free to resort guests for the length of their stay.
Two
lighted clay tennis courts are available to the south of the resort, and
private tennis lessons are available. There are also Junior Tennis Clinics daily at 4 p.m. for
children 6-8, or 5 p.m. ages 9-12. Racquets available at no extra charge.
Recreational
watercraft, including Sea Raycers, sailboats, and water-skiing, are
available for rent at the marina from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jogging,
volleyball, croquet, and swimming are all available, as well as unique
shops. Lobby Concierge in the Main Lobby can provide other suggestions
There
are a number of activities for children (special ticket/reservation
required) including a Wonderland Tea Party,
Pirate Cruise and the Kid Adventures in Cooking.
Adventure
Time - weather permitting, may be a game, water balloon toss or
something else, Monday-Friday at the pool 3:30 p.m.
Mousecraft
- Arts and crafts in M. Mouse Mercantile Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Story
Time, in M. Mouse Mercantile, is on Monday evenings at 8 p.m.
Gasparilla
Grill & Games at and the video games.
Mouseketeer
Clubhouse at the GF provides supervised children's activities, for
kids 4-12, from 4:30 p.m. until midnight.
Electric
Water Pageant - Go to the boat dock in the evening at
approximately 9:35 PM (check with Guest Services for exact times). You'll
be treated to the delightful Electric Water Pageant which makes its way
across Bay Lake nightly. This whimsical light and music show will
entertain you and your family for about 10 minutes. It's worth seeing at
least once! (The ELP visits all the Bay Lake resorts nightly.) The ELP may
be canceled due to inclement weather
Dining and Shopping
The
Grand Floridian Café offers
resort casual dining. This restaurant is rimmed with windows offering
views of the pool and courtyard. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is offered.
Citricos
is a chic, sophisticated restaurant featuring a seasonal menu focusing on
the freshest ingredients prepared with European flair. Citrico's is open
from 5:30 till 9:30pm on Wednesday thru Sunday. The lounge is open until
11:00pm
Narcoosee's is
the octagon-shaped restaurant has spectacular views of the Seven Seas
Lagoon and Magic Kingdom. Narcoosee's is open for dinner, from 6:00 to
10:00pm. Narcoosee's also has a lounge where evening cocktails are
offered.

1900
Park Fare features character dining. During the "Supercalifragilistic
Breakfast" you may find Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad
Hatter. During the "Cinderella's Gala Feast" dinner, Cinderella,
Prince Charming, Suzy, Perla and the Fairy Garden may visit you as you
dine. Both meals are buffets
Victoria
and Albert's is the signature restaurant of Disney's Grand Floridian
Resort & Spa. This award-winning restaurant offers an evening of fine
dining in an elegant setting. Open only for dinner, two seatings are
available at 5:45pm and at 9:00pm. The
menu changes daily and features American cuisine using the freshest
ingredients.
At
the Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table the Chef personally welcomes you
into his kitchen, introduces you to the staff, and seats you in a special
alcove where you can watch as your meal is prepared. There is only one
Chef's Table seating at 6:00pm each evening and the table can accommodate
up to 10 guests.
Wine
pairings are offered at both Victoria and Albert's and the Victoria and
Albert's Chef's Table. Guests are asked to wear evening attire with
jackets required for the gentlemen.
The
Garden View Lounge hosts the "My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess
Tea Party" on specified mornings. In the afternoon, tea is served
with traditional accompaniments. If you want to relax with a cocktail or
glass of wine, these beverages and specialty drinks are available.
Gasparilla
Grill & Games is open 24 hours a day. This is a casual, counter
service restaurant that is also home to an arcade.
Summer
Lace, on the first floor, features women's' designer fashions, Grand
Floridian robes and logo items, character apparel, swimwear, accessories,
jewelry and fragrances. Open daily 9am-10pm.
Sandy
Cove Gift and Sundry Shop, first floor, gourmet gifts, fine chocolates
and candies, Grand Floridian logo merchandise and sundry items. This shop
also sells CDs by musicians who perform at the Grand Floridian, as well as
cold beverages and snacks. It also sells and processes media for Disney
Digital cameras. This shop is open from 8am-10pm.
Commander
Porter's, located on the second floor, offers men's designer clothing
such as Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren Polo. Men's fragrances, golf
apparel, and gift items are also available here. Open daily from 9am to
10pm.
M.
Mouse Mercantile can be found on the second floor near the monorail
station. Disney souvenir items including children's apparel, toys, books,
pins, and watches can be purchased here. This shop is open from 8am -
10pm.
Disney's
PhotoPass Kiosk - Next to M. Mouse Mercantile. You can view your
Disney's PhotoPass photos here and place orders for them. Open daily 8
a.m. - 10 p.m. Professional
portrait sessions can also be arranged here.
Basin
White - 2nd floor as you're approaching the doors to go out to the
monorail, sells beauty and bath products. (Replaced the Bally store in
late 2006.) Open daily from 10am-10pm.

Being
on the monorail route is yet another benefit of a stay at Disney's Grand
Floridian Resort & Spa. The monorail stops at the Magic Kingdom®
Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, the Ticket and Transportation Center
and Disney's Polynesian Resort.
